I’m an Evangelical Christian with no denominational affiliation. I believe that Jesus Christ is God made flesh, the second person of the Triune Godhead which includes the Father and the Holy Spirit, the one-of-a-kind Son of God who died on the cross to save the world from the power of sin and death, rose again and ascended to the right hand of the Father, and is the only name by whom we might be saved and have eternal life. I believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ Jesus alone, and not by works. It is a free gift to anyone who puts their hope in Jesus, and not something we can earn our way into.
I believe that the Bible is the authoritative word of God that was inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is our final arbiter of what is true and right and pleasing to God. It is the light by which we test all things. I believe that scripture should be interpreted and understood within its own context, including the context in which it was originally written. I take a historical-grammatical approach to understanding scripture, which means that I believe it is not an esoteric text or an allegory, but was written to be plainly understood, and that the Bible says what it means and means what it says.
I lean “dispensational” in my understanding of the ages by which God has organized his dealings with humanity and in my understanding of Bible prophecy and eschatology. I believe God still has a plan by which “all [the remnant of] Israel will be saved” and that the Church must necessarily be removed from the earth prior to the Great Tribulation in order for the revival and restoration of Israel to take place according to prophecies found in Daniel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Hosea, Romans 11 and other passages of scripture.
I subscribe to the “Divine Council worldview” made popular by the late Dr. Michael Heiser. I understand the lowercase-g gods mentioned throughout the Bible to be real beings belonging to the created class of angelic beings who have been given power and authority over regions of the earth and who are mostly in rebellion against the One True God and on a mission to steal, kill and destroy humanity. I believe that a subset of these beings came to earth in the days before the Great Flood, took human wives for themselves, and created hybrid offspring that have been referred to by different cultures throughout history as Apkallu and demigods, but are referred to in scripture as the Nephilim, and that this not only served as the cause for God flooding the earth but also continues to have repercussions on the world to this day.
